App Review - Heart Beat Rate

Heart Beat Rate is a heart rate monitor brought to you by Bluekiwee. Like other common mobile phone heart rate monitor, it require users' fingertips to be placed on rear camera lens in order to calibrate and extract heart beat per minute.

During measurement, Heart Beat Rate will beep with pulse, along with real time signal processed PPG line graph display. It is not smart enough to check for your finger presence on the camera lens and give you some alert, however, it won't show reading if your finger is absent, and it will halt with measurement fail message after the progress bar finished a loop. If your device is not equipped with LED flash, you can do it in a brighter environment.

Regarding its demo, you can check out my video on Heart Beat Rate VS Pulse Oximeter Here!

When you finish your measurement, it will let you choose whether you are measuring your training heart rate or resting heart rate. Then it will check up and rank your heart rate value according to the two different types of measurement, based on your age (you will need to set your birthday on setting page)

Besides that, users can turn on smart measure mode, which is the measurement will auto halt after 15 seconds if valid heart beat value is found. Otherwise, the measurement will going on until the progress bar finish running.

Heart Beat Rate is available for free for both iOS and Android (with no history tracking features and show ads). There is also a PRO version ($1.99, provides history features with a list and graph display) available for both platforms.

Enjoy! :D
